How to install Superpowers Marketplace in Grok Build

1. Add this repo as a plugin marketplace in Grok Build (once per computer):

grok plugin marketplace add obra/superpowers-marketplace

2. Install the plugin:

grok plugin install superpowers@obra/superpowers-marketplace --trust

Review before you trust it. --trust lets this plugin's hooks, MCP servers and scripts run code on your computer. It's a community repo that neither xAI nor GrokStacks has reviewed, so read its code first.

This repo's marketplace has 10 plugins; we checked elements-of-style, superpowers, superpowers-chrome. Install another the same way: grok plugin install <name>@obra/superpowers-marketplace --trust (names under 'What it contains'). Then start a new Grok session, or press r in /plugins, to load it.

Inside Grok Build: type /plugins, open the Marketplace tab, press a and add obra/superpowers-marketplace, then select superpowers and press i.

Command format: Grok Build's plugin guide

Runs a local MCP server (with npx, uvx or similar), so that tool needs to be installed, for example Node.js for npx.

What we checked: on Oct 19, 2026 it installed with grok 1.0.62 and Grok found 17 skills, 1 subagent. That's an install check only: we haven't run it in a live Grok session.

What it contains

Skills (17)

  • brainstorming — You MUST use this before any creative work - creating features, building components, adding functionality, modifying behavior, or planning anything new, in software or out of it (a talk, a business, a renovation).
  • diagnosing-superpowers — Use when a superpowers session went wrong and your human partner wants to know why — repeated work, ignored plans, stumbles, poor results, a skill that didn't fire, "it took too long", "why is it so expensive", "what is it doing" — or wants
  • dispatching-parallel-agents — Use when facing 2+ independent tasks that can be worked on without shared state or sequential dependencies
  • executing-plans — Use when executing an implementation plan in the current session as the implementer yourself — your human partner chose inline execution, or no subagent tool is available
  • finishing-a-development-branch — Use when implementation is complete, all tests pass, and you need to decide how to integrate the work
  • receiving-code-review — Use when receiving code review feedback, before implementing suggestions, especially if feedback seems unclear or technically questionable - requires technical rigor and verification, not performative agreement or blind implementation
  • requesting-code-review — Use when completing tasks, implementing major features, or before merging to verify work meets requirements
  • subagent-driven-development — Use when executing implementation plans with independent tasks in the current session
  • systematic-debugging — Use when encountering any bug, test failure, or unexpected behavior, before proposing fixes
  • test-driven-development — Use when implementing any feature or bugfix, before writing implementation code
  • using-git-worktrees — Use when starting feature work that needs isolation from current workspace or before executing implementation plans - ensures an isolated workspace exists via native tools or git worktree fallback
  • using-superpowers — Use when starting any conversation - establishes how to find and use skills, requiring skill invocation before ANY response including clarifying questions
  • verification-before-completion — Use when about to claim work is complete, fixed, or passing, before committing or creating PRs - requires running verification commands and confirming output before making any success claims; evidence before assertions always
  • writing-plans — Use when you have a spec or requirements for a multi-step task, before touching code
  • writing-skills — Use when creating new skills, editing existing skills, or verifying skills work before deployment
  • browsing — Use when you need direct browser control - teaches Chrome DevTools Protocol for controlling existing browser sessions, multi-tab management, form automation, and content extraction via use_browser MCP tool
  • writing-clearly-and-concisely — Apply Strunk's timeless writing rules to ANY prose humans will read—documentation, commit messages, error messages, explanations, reports, or UI text. Makes your writing clearer, stronger, and more professional.

MCP servers (1)

  • chrome — stdio server

Hooks (1)

  • hooks — SessionStart

Plugins in this marketplace (10)

  • superpowers — Core skills library: TDD, debugging, collaboration patterns, and proven techniques
  • superpowers-chrome — Direct Chrome DevTools Protocol access via 'browsing' skill. Skill mode (CLI commands) + MCP mode (single use_browser tool). Zero dependencies, auto-starts Chrome.
  • elements-of-style — Writing guidance based on William Strunk Jr.'s The Elements of Style (1918) - foundational rules for clear, concise, grammatically correct writing
  • episodic-memory — Semantic search for Claude Code and Codex conversations. Remember past discussions, decisions, and patterns across sessions. Gives you memory that persists between sessions.
  • superpowers-lab — Experimental skills for Superpowers: tmux automation for interactive CLIs, MCP server discovery, duplicate function detection, headless Windows VM
  • superpowers-developing-for-claude-code — Skills and resources for developing Claude Code plugins, skills, MCP servers, and extensions. Includes comprehensive official documentation and self-update mechanism.
  • superpowers-dev — DEV BRANCH: YOU MUST UNINSTALL OTHER VERSIONS OF SUPERPOWERS BEFORE INSTALLING THIS
  • claude-session-driver — Launch, control, and monitor other Claude Code sessions as workers via tmux
  • private-journal-mcp — Private journaling MCP server with semantic search. Multi-section entries (reflections, observations, project notes, technical insights), local AI embeddings, and full-text retrieval.
